Updates from Upland
Our second week is underway, and we’ve had the pleasure of meeting our kindergarteners. The highlight of my day is seeing the students and more specifically, getting a chance to play. Not everyone gets to say they “played” at work, so I consider myself to be very fortunate. Thank you all so much for sharing your children with us. It truly takes a village and we’re so lucky to have you in ours. 🤗
School Community Council
Did you know that every school has a community council? Our community council members work with the principal to develop plans and spend money that will benefit our students’ achievement and our school community. Are you interested in being on our school’s community council? If yes, please email Ms. Anderson and I can send you a declaration of candidacy form. We need to fill 2 parent spots for this year’s council. I need to know by Friday, August 22nd at 3:00pm if you are interested. We meet once a month at Upland Terrace on the 4th Friday at 3:00.
STEAM Lab
We are working on getting our STEAM lab up and running for this school year. All of our students have had a chance to participate in this class already, so be sure to ask them about it. We are asking for some donations of some lightly used items you may currently have in your homes to donate. You can learn more information about the STEAM lab by opening the attached document.

Kindergarten Parent Mingle: Calling all kindergarten parents! Join us Friday morning for a casual PTA mingle. Connect with other kindergarten families, learn ways to get involved at Upland, ask questions, and enjoy a treat! 9:00am at the West Kindergarten doors!

Our first PTA meeting will be September 11th at 9:15am in the PTA Room. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join. You do not need to be a paying member to join this meeting. We need your voice!
SAVE THE DATE: Our annual PTA carnival is coming up on Friday September 12th, 4pm-6pm at our school. Join us for fun games, bounce house and climbing walls, face painting, a photobooth, awesome food and an incredible silent auction! More information and sign-ups to help coming soon!
