February 27, 2026School News

Hello! February is flying by! I can’t believe it’s almost over. We’ve had quite the month with our wonderful school musical and parent-teacher conferences. And now we’re gearing up for even more fun!

School Fundraiser

As many of you know, each year we have a school carnival. The purpose of the carnival is to fundraise money for our PTA. PTA is able to spend their money supporting our teachers, field trips, arts programs, and fun events. We greatly appreciate the support you provide them so they can in turn support us.

Something you may not know is that the school needs money to be able to purchase important items to enhance our teaching, which is not something that the PTA can sustain to the magnitude we need. This is why our school holds an annual fundraiser. We currently have 11 classrooms that are in need of upgrading their SmartBoard systems. This is an urgent need as the current technology is about to be outdated. Last year, with the money you fundraised, we were able to purchase 5 new ViewSonic smartboards for 5 classrooms in need. Absolutely incredible! If we keep fundraising like that, we will be up to date by the end of next year.

We are kicking off the registration process for this year’s fundraiser, today. Your student should have come home with flyers about it and I have also attached them to this email. Thank you in advance for your support of our school and our/your students.

Read Across America Week

During our fundraiser week, March 2nd-6th, we are also celebrating Read Across America Week (AKA Dr. Seuss Week). I have attached a flyer of our dress up days for that week. We will also be having a Books and Bagels event on March 6th from 8:15-9:00 in the gym. You can bring a book or listen to a story from one of our teacher readers and enjoy some breakfast with books.

New Assistant Principal

This year has brought us three different assistant principals. Our third, and final, assistant principal of the year is Mrs. Hill. She is coming to us with a plethora of knowledge and many years of educational experience. You can read more about her on the attached flyer. We’re so happy to have Mrs. Hill here!
