Dear Parents and Students:
Welcome back to Wasatch Jr. High. We are excited to be back in a relatively normal way. The next few emails will be filled with information and requests, so please read all the way through them. If you have friends and neighbors that did not receive this email please have them contact me so we can get that fixed. We hate it when students and parents miss out on important, fun or exciting information.
Schedule and Locker Pick Up:
Schedules and lockers will be available to be picked up as follows:
8th grade: Aug. 11th –8-11:30 am
7th grade: Aug 11th –12:30-4pm
6th grade: Aug 12th –8-11:30am
We know that many of you have already paid your fees and got an email with your schedule. Please know that there have been some changes in staffing and classes that may have changed some of your student’s classes. Picking up your student’s schedule at the assigned time will ensure the latest and most accurate schedule. If you have questions or concerns regarding your student’s schedule, please contact your counselor.
School Community Council Elections:
We are currently accepting Declaration of Candidacy forms for our School Community Council. We have 3 open positions this year. We would love for you to get involved. The link below is the Declaration of Candidacy form. The due date is August 30th by 3:00pm. The role of the Council is to appropriate Land Trust Funds, assist with the school improvement plan and many other vital issues. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:45am for an hour. Please come get involved in an important aspect of Wasatch Jr. High.
PTSA
Hello Wasatch Jr. Families! My name is Mariann Bengtzen, I’m the PTSA President for 2021-2022 at Wasatch Jr. I’m excited and optimistic for the upcoming school year. We have a lot of great activities planned for our students and will be offering our undying support to the teachers and staff. Please consider joining PTSA. It’s an opportunity for you and your students to get involved in strengthening our school. Even if you don’t have time to volunteer, your memberships have a lot of power. PTA is actively involved in lobbying for any and all legislation that benefits students and teachers. PTA was instrumental in passing the legislation that gave teachers and staff their recent raise. Your numbers really do count! Also, if you are in a position to donate to our school PTSA, please be generous. Our funds are down because of Covid and we can use any all support that you’re able to give. Lastly, check out the new school logo wear that we will be offering this year, they turned out awesome and it’s a great way to show our school spirit. Click on the link that’s provided to Memberhub to sign up, donate and buy a school T-shirt or hoodie! Or join on the school store website.
