Dear Parents and Students:
School Community Council Elections:
We are currently accepting Declaration of Candidacy forms for our School Community Council. We have 3 open positions this year. We need your involvement. The link below is the Declaration of Candidacy form. The due date is August 30th by 3:00pm. The role of the Council is to appropriate Land Trust Funds, assist with the school improvement plan and many other vital issues. We meet on the first Thursday of each month at 6:45am for an hour. Please come get involved in an important aspect of Wasatch Jr. High.
Fees & Yearbooks:
Elective fees have been added to student accounts. Please pay online, in the office, or over the phone at 385-646-3701. Fee waiver applications are due by September 24th . Remember to purchase your yearbook now, you don’t want to miss out on this great memory.
Fall Yearbook Pictures:
Pictures will be taken on Thursday, 9/2 during your student’s math class. A flyer went home with students this week, if you would like to purchase photos. More forms are available on the Front Office. This photo is used for their Yearbook, student ID, Lunch PIN and Trading Post. Kind of a big deal. So come looking your best.
Reflections Contest:
The theme for Reflections this year is “You Can Change the World By…” All entries will be due by October 4 and will be submitted electronically. Reflections is a great way for students to express themselves through art, please encourage your student to participate! For questions you can contact Mica Webb 801-707-6844 or access the Utah PTA website.
PTSA:
It was great to meet so many parents and students at registration and Back to School night. If you haven’t joined PTSA, please do! The more parental involvement, the stronger our school is. Also, it’s not too late to order Wasatch wear, if you’ve already ordered a t-shirt or hoodie, you can pick it up in the office. To join PTSA or order Wasatch wear go to WJH PTSA website or you can do so in the office.
Last but not least, many of you have noticed the festive blue and yellow flags that have lined the school property. We want to give a big thanks to Downeast Home and Home Depot for being major sponsors in that endeavor. We think it adds a feeling of pride and school spirit and we appreciate their generous donations!
