Dear Parents and Students:
REALITY TOWN—VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Reality Town allows 8th graders to experience real life in a simulated environment. Students are given careers, jobs, families, and have to make budgeting and other decisions based on their paychecks and life situations. This valuable program requires about 70 volunteers! Volunteers play roles of car salesmen, bankers, grocers, etc. It’s a fun experience for both the students and adults; we welcome any volunteers–even if you don’t have an 8th grader. If you have questions, contact Anna Bullock 8019490823 or Sarah Pugsley 8016510047. Please use this link to sign up to volunteer: Reality Town
REFLECTIONS CONTEST

Reflections is a great way for students to explore and be involved in the arts. The categories are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, 2D VIsual Arts and 3D Visual Arts.
Please encourage your student to participate! For questions you can contact Mica Webb 801-707-6844 or access the website, www.utahpta.org/reflections
PICTURE RETAKES
Picture retakes will occur on October 7th. If you missed the first picture day, this is a great opportunity to get your picture taken. Besides having a picture for your grandparents, the school uses the photo for the yearbook, student id’s, and our school rewards system (Trading Post)
PTSA
Show your school spirit on Fridays! Wear your school shirt or hoodie (past or present) and get a treat at lunch! If you’ve ordered a school shirt on memberhub, you or your student can pick it up in the office. You can still buy school shirts in the office, order on memberhub https://wasatchjr.memberhub.com/store or buy at SEP’S.
RED RIBBON WEEK: A WEEK OF CONNECTION
Our Week of Connection is coming up! Since our students have heard “Just Say No” for years we’re switching things up. Research shows that the best antidote to addiction is connection. Red Ribbon Week will be filled with activities that help kids learn how to make meaningful connections and how to change their thoughts and habits to build emotional resilience and foster inclusion.
We need parent volunteers to help during our lunch activities! We have the most amazing student body and this is a really excellent (and easy) way to feel connected to what’s happening at Wasatch and in your students’ world. You can sign up here:
