DISTANCE LEARNING
As you hopefully read in the email from Granite School District last night (attached), we will be conducting distance learning for the four days next week. (1/18-21) Please check your Canvas page as teachers should be reaching out to you, especially in new class from the semester change. Volleyball, the school musical and other extra-curricular activities will be suspended until Monday 1-24. We will see you for back in person learning on January 24th.
WASATCH OPEN HOUSE—DATE CHANGE
On January 26th from 6-8pm, Wasatch will have an open house for all those interested in coming to Wasatch Jr. High next year as a student. Parents and students of incoming 6th grade students as well as any student wanting to apply for an Open Enrollment Permit, grades 6-8 can come look around the school, meet teachers & administration and see what Wasatch has to offer in terms of education and extra-curricular activities. Please invite all who you think would be interested in joining us at Wasatch for 2022-23 school year.
SCHOOL CALENDAR CHANGE
Parents, the Granite School Board recently approved three new Student Non Attendance Days (SNAD). These will occur on 1/28, 3/11, and 5/6. These Fridays will be used by teachers for preparation, students will not attend school in person or online. As they are all on Fridays, the Thursdays will be normal length school days.
OPEN ENROLLMENT:
The time for Open Enrollment or boundary permits is now open. If you currently have a student in Wasatch it is not necessary to fill out a form yearly, but if you have a new incoming student 6th-8th grade, you will need to fill out an Open Enrollment form. If your student has an open enrollment permit at Wasatch and is wanting to move to Skyline High, You will need to fill one out at Skyline. Tell your friends and family that the time has come! Please bring a copy of most recent grades, immunizations and birth certificate if coming into 6th grade. We would love to have you and your friends join our fabulous school. WASATCH TRADING POST:
As part of our positive behavior reward program at Wasatch we have a trading post were students are able to purchase items with school currency they earn through good behavior and participation in the classroom and school. If you would like to donate some items, we have a link through Amazon that you can order through and have it directly sent to the school.
SPELLING BEE:
The spelling bee will be held Wed Feb 2, 2022. The closing date to get the word list is Thursday Jan 27th. Word lists are in the front office
SKYLINE IB INFORMATION MEETINGS
Anyone interested in the IB program should plan to attend one of our January IB Information Nights on the following dates:

MATH TUTORING
Wasatch’s math department offers FREE math tutoring on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4pm.
