Dear Parents and Students:
COLLEGE APPLICATION WEEK
Next week is College Week! All week long the counselors have planned fun activities. Every day there will be a college pennant hiding in the school for students to find. The first one to find it and report to the library will receive a prize. On Tuesday and Thursday there will be lunchtime activities. On Friday it is a school super-fan day. Wear your favorite college or Wasatch t-shirt and gear.
Today we started Hogwarts applications. This is an amazing opportunity for your student to practice filling out a mock college or scholarship application. Students who complete the application will get to go to an activity filled Hogwarts Day in December. Applications are in the Counseling Center or they can also be found on the school website.
Hogwarts 1st Year Application– This is for all those that have never applied to Hogwarts before. It doesn’t matter what grade you are in.
Hogwarts 2nd Year Application– This is for all those that have attended only 1 year of Hogwarts before. This is for 7th or 8th graders.
Hogwarts 3rd Year Scholarship Application– This application is ONLY for 8th graders who have attended Hogwarts in 6th AND 7th grade.
Generic Scholarship Application– This application is for any student who wants the practice, but doesn’t want to be part of our in-school Hogwarts Day. This form has no magical elements to it.
Hogwarts Application deadlines: Priority deadline- November 8th & Final Deadline- November 11th
BADMINTION INTRAMURALS
Starting this Friday, November 11, Wasatch will be offering badminton in the gym every Friday from 7:00 am to 7:30 am. We will teach the basics of badminton and have the chance to play several games each week. If you have any questions, see Coach Niederhauser.
ALL 8TH GRADE PARENTS – Time for a CCR Plan meeting!
Before the CCR Plan meeting, students and their parents/guardians need to go through the College and Career Readiness (CCR) Plan presentation. This includes important information for high school and will prepare you for the CCR Plan meeting with your counselor. At the end of the presentation, you will sign up for an appointment to meet with your counselor. These meetings are required by the state for every 8th grader. To view the CCR Plan presentation, please visit the WJH Counseling Center website.
