The staff at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School has always regarded parental involvement vital to the success of students achieving academic success together. Within our community there are many diverse cultures, languages, and students with special needs. We encourage parents and guardians to participate as school volunteers, in PTA and the Community Council.
It is the intent that our communication with parents, such as materials or flyers, will be written in an understandable and uniform format and, to the extent practical, provided in a language that is understandable. If anyone would like clarification, interpretation, or additional support, please contact the office at 385-646-5102. Each parent or guardian is highly encouraged to work directly with the teacher of the child to resolve any concerns.

School Title I Goals
Each year, our school conducts a needs assessment, reviews student performance data, and solicits input from various stakeholders in order to develop a meaningful Title I Plan. This plan is data-driven, evidence-based, and responsive to findings from data reviews, needs assessment findings, and stakeholder input. The school comprehensive Title I plan articulates how evidence-based strategies, action steps and milestones will support the goals listed below.
Goal One
Academic Goal: Achievement
Woodrow Wilson will increase RISE proficiency by 3% in all categories as measured by the
2025 end of level assessment.
Woodrow Wilson will ensure that 70% of scholars in grades K-5 will meet their pathway
of progress goal and 58% of scholars will reach “benchmark” on Acadience Reading EOY
assessment.
Woodrow Wilson will ensure that 61% of scholars in grades K-5 will meet their pathway of
progress goal and 52% of scholars will reach “benchmark” on Acadience Math EOY assessment.
Goal Two
Social Skills and Disposition Goal: Belonging
During the 2024-25 school year, the overall average daily attendance rate will meet or exceed
90%. This goal will be measured as the total number of days present divided by the total
number of school days for students. Scholars falling below 90% average daily attendance will
be reduced by half from the 2024 school year.
60% of scholars will experience a more supportive and inclusive school environment
characterized by self-reported abilities in self-management, rate of positive feelings, less
frequent challenging feelings, and self-efficacy in achieving academic outcomes. Scholars
will report feelings of safety, belonging, and being valued as measured on a pre/interim/post
student survey comparison.
Goal Three
Talent Development Goal: Effective Tier 1
Woodrow Wilson teachers and staff will participate in professional learning events throughout
the year with UURC (University of Utah Reading Clinic). Teachers and staff will complete a
survey on their knowledge of best practices at the beginning and end of the year. 85% of staff
will report that their knowledge and efficacy of Tier 1 reading instruction has significantly
improved. They will also report whether the training was worthwhile and helped them improve
their instructional practice.
