Week four of a six week course on elements of glass and fiber optics, presented by a professor at the University of Utah and an assistant through the STEM Program for YIC, focused on elements that can have their atoms manipulated. This week’s experiment consisted of dipping copper wire into Borax and then burning it in a flame to create glass. The students look forward to these sessions each week and always ask great questions. What an awesome opportunity this is!
