YESS Transition Classrooms

Granite School District provides two educational programs for youth transitioning back into mainstream education; YESS Transition and Support Classroom and YESS Granger High Classroom.

REFERRAL PROCESS FOR ENROLLMENT: The referral process for a YIC student must be initiated by the school’s YIC advocate or mentor. Because they work closely with the student, they are familiar with the interventions that have been implemented at the school, the level of support provided, and whether those interventions have been effective. This information is essential to ensure that referrals are appropriate and that next steps are based on the student’s documented needs and progress.

YESS Transition and Support Classroom (Roosevelt Campus):

Students are placed by the YIC Team and selected for placement based on their potential for success. Their focus is on credit recovery, graduation, and training for the future. Class size is limited and enrollment in the classroom is a privilege. Students can be returned to their home school if their performance does not meet requirements.

YESS Granger High Classroom:

Students are placed by the YIC Team and selected for placement based on their potential for success. Their focus is on transitioning students back into mainstream school. Student attend some classes within the regular school. Class size is limited and enrollment in the classroom is a privilege. Students can be returned to their home school if their performance do not meet requirements.
