Tucker, new ETCA at DSI/Gemstone, wore his Irish Kilt and brought his Highland bagpipes to play for Pamela’s music classes. He explained how warriors played their bagpipes as they lead their troops into battle. Bagpipers learned how to speak in code in ancient times when the English occupied Scotland and outlawed bagpipes. The bagpipers have kept their ancient art alive! Tucker has been playing bagpipes for 10 years. He reports that his most memorable place to play was for his grandfather’s funeral, which he was honored to do. He did a great job playing his bagpipes and answering questions for Pamela’s music classes!
(Thanks to Pamela, Music & English teacher at DSI/Gemstone, for this write-up.)
