Hello Bonneville Families!
It is official…we have finished our first full week of school. We have had a great start to the school year. It was wonderful seeing so many families at our Back to School Night. A big thanks to our PTA and all of the community support. There is always so much excitement at the beginning of the year. We truly appreciate your efforts in supporting your students in their junior high experience. Every day I walk the halls and the “hellos” and big smiles are worth it. It is a privilege to work with your students.
Next week is BUSY! We will celebrate our official “Hello Week” with various activities. Tuesday morning we will have our Hello Assembly and Thursday afternoon from 3-4 we will have our Hello Dance. All students are welcome to attend and get to know new people. Each day has a “theme” and I encourage students to get involved and show their school spirit!
*Monday: Twin Day (Dress to match a friend)
*Tuesday: Bonneville Gear (Show your Viking Pride)
*Wednesday: Neon/Bright Colors Day (The Brighter the Better)
*Thursday: Picture Perfect (School Picture Day)
Thursday is Fall picture day. Your students should have brought home the picture information this week. You can order online at Bellphoto.com with the online code bonneville23jr. Students will take pictures with their science classes on Thursday.
Please remember that next week is a short week. Students will NOT have school on Friday, September 1st for a teacher professional development day and no school on Monday, September 4th for Labor Day. Thursday will be a regular bell schedule, NO EARLY RELEASE.
Have a wonderful and safe weekend!
Fall Play Auditions
If your student is interested in auditioning for the Fall Play “Trap” have them see Mrs. Tzovaras for more information. Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday after school beginning at 3:00. Students must sign up to audition.
Dance Society
Dance will begin on Thursday, September 7th at 3:00 in the dance studio. Any student interested in participating is welcome. All abilities and experience are encouraged to get involved. Dance Society will meet on Thursdays from 3-4:30. The plan is to have two student performances in the Fall at our Bonneville Fall Festival and the Cottonwood Evening of Dance. This is a great experience for our students!

School Doorbell and Entrance Procedures
If you have visited Bonneville recently, you may have noticed a new doorbell at our entrance. As a school we take the safety of our students and staff seriously. Please have your ID ready to enter the building. This process is new to all of us and we are learning how to make it efficient. Please support our efforts for schools safety.

Counseling Comments
Schedule change requests are now closed. The BJHS Counseling Center has received over 220 schedule change requests (that’s over 1/3 of the school!). The school counselors are working hard to meet with all students who have signed up for a schedule change in order of sign up. Thank you for being patient as we work through these requests.
6th Grade College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP) Meetings
College and Career Readiness Plans are individual meetings with a school counselor to discuss grades, academics, educational goals, career aspirations, adjustment to junior high school and emotional well-being. 6th Grade CCRP meetings will start in September. Panorama Survey 2023-2024
Dear Bonneville Families,
Students are important partners in our efforts to improve our communication, academic programs, and overall educational experience. In order to learn more about what our students need in order to thrive, we will be asking for your child’s feedback via an online survey given three times a year that will be completed at our school, the Panorama Survey. Your students’ feedback will provide valuable insight into their experiences and help our district adapt to meet their needs.
The survey will ask students to self-reflect on their social skills, dispositions, and emotions, as well as the support that they receive in and outside of the classroom. You can preview the survey content using the links below:
Skills and Dispositions: Grades 6-12
Supports and Environment: Grades 6-12
The survey will take no more than one class period to complete. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, or doesn’t wish to answer, they will be able to skip the item altogether. Educators who work with your child will be able to see their self-reported areas of strength and areas for growth. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
If you do not want your child to participate, please notify the Principal, Jen Johnson jjohnson@graniteschools.org by Friday, September 1st. If you opted your student out last year, you will need to submit another opt out for the 2023-2024 school year. We thank you in advance. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 385-646-5124.
