Hello Bonneville Families!
We had a very busy and fast short week! Today we celebrated our Viking Way with our very first PBIS Party. PBIS is our Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports program that recognizes and teaches the positive behaviors we want to see from our students. Ask your student about our Viking Way and what it means to be RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIBLE, AND READY TO LEARN! We are a month into school and everyone is starting to get into the routine. Please continue to support your students and encourage positive behaviors both at home and at school. Take the time to review expectations of behavior with your students and discuss the importance of how we should act at school. We are so happy to have your student at Bonneville Junior High and we all want to work together to create a positive environment.
We just received some AWESOME news about our MESA team from last school year. MESA is our Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement program. Mr. Evans, Mr. DeMille, and Ms. Ferguson were our program advisors for last year. We were just notified that the Bonneville Junior High MESA team took 1st Place out of all the junior high schools for the team competition that was held last March. This is absolutely incredible and we are so proud of our students and teachers that participated.
Our Cross Country team had their first meet this week and did amazing. We had students place in both varsity and JV. Way to go Cross Country and Coach Tripp for all your hard work. They will have their 2nd meet next week at Hunter Junior High. Our soccer teams will also begin their games next week with girls at Bonneville and boys at Granite Park on Monday. Then on Wednesday, girls at Bonneville and boys at Bennion. Games begin about 3:00. Please remember to show good sportsmanship and pride for our Vikings and our school.
As a reminder, please see the attached guidelines from our school nurse on when to keep your student home if they are sick. We know how important it is for your student to attend school, but we also want to do our part to keep everyone healthy. Please take a few minutes to review the attached guidelines.
Have a great weekend!

Counseling Comments
6th Grade CCRPs
School counselors are currently meeting with all 6th grade students for their annual College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP) meetings. School counselors are checking in with students to make sure they are adjusting well to junior high school. Vehicle Day!!!
We are so excited for our annual 6th grade career event, Vehicle Day. This year Bonneville Junior High School is holding Vehicle Day on Thursday, October 5th from approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Vehicle Day is a unique college and career awareness activity that teaches our students about different careers in a fun, interactive way. During this day we line the south parking lot with vehicles that represent a variety of different fields and have students rotate in groups to each vehicle to learn about careers related to it. In the past, for example, we have had police cars, fire trucks, hearses, city vehicles, professional athlete’s cars, construction machines, big rigs, and news vans.
We are still looking for more vehicles to join our event. If you are interested in displaying your career’s car and sharing with our students about your industry, please email Mrs. Stacy Wood at srwood@graniteschools.org.
We also need 8 parent volunteers to help chaperone groups of students around the parking lot. Please contact Mrs. Stacy Wood at srwood@graniteschools.org to sign up.
