The City of Holladay is rolling out a community drive that will run from Nov. 13th to Dec. 8th.
The theme for this Community Comfort Drive is “Share Your Warmth”. With warm and supportive hearts, we can aid in the road to recovery for patients that find themselves in the most challenging situation of their lives – struck with a cancer diagnosis and undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
We are coordinating a service project to benefit the patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute by collecting donations of items that would provide comfort during those trying times. These comfort items can’t cure anyone, but they can provide an avenue to show that we care by providing items that may help calm a stressful situation.
Donations can be dropped off at Holladay City Hall, or if you would like to have a donation box at your school, we can have one delivered and we can pick up donations when we are notified it is needed.
COMFORT ITEMS NEEDED: (items must be new)
Cozy Socks
To help them stay cozy and cuddly.
Fleece Blankets for Laps (4’X5’ or approx. 48”X58” )
To help them feel comfortable and wrapped in warmth.
Activity Books & Colored Pencils / Pens
To keep their minds active, focused, and determined.
Comfy Beanies/Hats
To wrap their head with warm thoughts.
We are hoping to encourage our whole community to get together and rally behind this cause and help provide some comfort. If you would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I’ve attached our flyer and Instagram and Facebook pics if you can share on your social media channels. Any support would be appreciated!
Thank you for your support!
