WE MADE IT!!!
Way to go Bonneville students and families for getting through quarter 2 and making it to winter break! There is no school tomorrow and we will return to school on Wednesday, January 3rd. This first day back will also be the beginning of quarter 3. Please have your students look on Focus during the break and write down or memorize their new schedules. We will NOT begin sign-ups for schedule changes until Thursday, January 4th. We want all students to attend their classes on the first day back. Our counselors will work quickly to help our students fix their schedules. Please keep in mind we cannot always accommodate every schedule change, but I promise our counselors do their very best to accommodate changes and requests.
I want to take a moment and sincerely express my gratitude and appreciation for our Bonneville community. I have spent the last few weeks in many conversations with families about the amount of love and support they feel in this community. I have the privilege every day to interact with amazing students and families. I see what you do for your students and for one another and I am so very grateful to get to be one small part of it. Thank you for trusting us with your students. Being a junior high principal brings many great “wins” and also some heartache. But I will gladly show up every, single day to work hard for your students.
I truly hope your winter break is filled with love and happiness. I hope you get to spend this time doing exactly what you want to do. I hope the new year brings excitement and a new start.
Please be safe! Enjoy your winter break!
Viking Night 2024
Volleyball
Volleyball for both girls and boys will begin right after the break…the day we get back, Wednesday, January 3rd! Please remind your students to listen for announcements or see Coach Tripp with questions. All levels and abilities are encouraged to come out and play and participate.
Panorama Survey 2023-2024
Dear Bonneville Families,
Students are important partners in our efforts to improve our communication, academic programs, and overall educational experience. In order to learn more about what our students need in order to thrive, we will be asking for your child’s feedback via an online survey given three times a year that will be completed at our school, the Panorama Survey. Your students’ feedback will provide valuable insight into their experiences and help our district adapt to meet their needs.
The survey will ask students to self-reflect on their social skills, dispositions, and emotions, as well as the support that they receive in and outside of the classroom. You can preview the survey content using the links below:
Skills and Dispositions: Grades 6-12
Supports and Environment: Grades 6-12
The survey will take no more than one class period to complete. If a student doesn’t feel like they have enough information to answer a question, or doesn’t wish to answer, they will be able to skip the item altogether. Educators who work with your child will be able to see their self-reported areas of strength and areas for growth. We are partnering with a third-party vendor to support us in administering these surveys.
If you do not want your child to participate, please notify the Principal, Jen Johnson jjohnson@graniteschools.org by Wednesday, January 10th. If you opted your student out last year, you will need to submit another opt out for the 2023-2024 school year. If you opted your student out at the beginning of this school year, you will NOT need to submit another request. We thank you in advance. If you have any questions about the survey administration, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 385-646-5124.
