Happy New Year Bonneville Families!
It was so wonderful to be back at school and have your students with us for 2024! I truly hope your winter break was fantastic. With the start of quarter 3 we are officially halfway through the school year. I cannot believe how fast time flies. We still have a lot to accomplish this school year and as always, I encourage you to support your students in being their “best selves” at all times. Not only academically, but in their behaviors, language, and general interactions with one another. We know hands down that junior high is such a difficult time for many students as they grow and develop. Please talk openly with your students about expectations and just being a good person. I promise little actions and your words carry a lot of weight with your students.
As a reminder it is an expectation for students to be in class on time. Students who are tardy to class miss out on instruction and potentially disrupt the learning of others when they enter the classroom late. Starting next week, students who are habitually tardy to class will be required to attend lunch detention. All students will be given the opportunity to get lunch first. Please continue to encourage your students to be responsible and ready to learn by being on time to class. If you have any questions, please reach out to the main office.
With the start of a new semester, there may be new classes in your student’s schedule. Every student has been given instructions on how to submit a class change request. The class change request form can be found on our school website under the “counseling center” tab. Or…here is the link https://bonnevillecounseling.weebly.com/ Students MUST do this from their school chromebook. They will click on the black box in the middle of the page to open the form. Please make sure to select your correct counselor. Counselors will then spend the next week calling down students for class changes.
As you know, Granite School District switched to Focus this year for our student information system. You should have received an email this week from Granite School District about the updating of the Focus platform and how to create a parent portal account. By next week, Quarter 2 report cards should be available and both parents and students can view their report cards. This digital report card will also include the Graduate of Granite Characteristics for your students. We will NOT be printing out paper report cards this quarter
Thank you for ALL you continue to do to support Bonneville. I am proud to say this is hands down, one of the best schools around! And I promise…it takes everyone to make it that way. Keep up the great work.
Have a fantastic weekend!

Bonneville Goals for 2023-2024…just a Reminder!
Each year our school leadership team, community council, and administration work to articulate our school goals and focus. These goals help drive our professional development, what we focus on with our students, and how we spend allotted money. We have 3 goals for the 2023-2024 school year:
#1. Improve Reading Proficiency
#2. Improve Student Sense of Belonging
#3. Increase Faculty Peer Observations.
Please help to support and encourage these goals at home with your student. Your student’s success and happiness are extremely important to us and we will work diligently throughout the year to promote these goals.
Musical Auditions 2024
In case you haven’t heard…Bonneville Junior High will be performing “Newsies” for the 2024 school musical! We have such talented students and an incredible drama program. Auditions are Tuesday, January 9th after school. Students need to sign-up with Mrs. Tzovaras ASAP if they haven’t already! Break a leg at auditions next week!
Volleyball
Both boys and girls Volleyball has started. Boys will practice on Monday/Wednesday and girls on Tuesday/Thursday from 3-4:30. On Monday/Tuesday January 8th and 9th we will host a Volleyball Clinic with Cottonwood High School at Bonneville. This will be for both girls and boys.
