Hello Bonneville Families,
We have officially begun RISE testing this week. Our students have been working hard to complete their English Language Arts assessment and most have begun Science. Next week, 8th grade students will begin Writing and Math will start at the end of the week for all students. Please remember that during the testing session there are absolutely NO electronic devices allowed. This includes phones, smart watches, personal devices, etc. Using or accessing these devices during testing invalidates a student’s test. We recognize that testing can be stressful and a bit overwhelming at times, but we truly want your students to do their very best during testing. RISE testing helps our school implement goals and make decisions that best supports student learning at Bonneville. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOUR STUDENT BRING THEIR CHROMEBOOK CHARGED AND READY EVERY, SINGLE DAY TO SCHOOL!
Monday, April 22nd: Writing (8th Grade Only)
Wednesday, April 24th: Math (All Grades)
Monday, May 6th: Makeups for ALL Tests
It has been such a busy and exciting week…so many amazing activities for our students. Band and Choir Festival students were outstanding and had successful performances. Our Debate Team competed at region this week and represented Bonneville so well. Our Chinese DLI students attended the BYU Language Fair and received many awards. And we had the final State Competition for our National History Day. Our Vikings are truly incredible and we are so proud of all their work and the amazing teachers that support them!
This summer, Salt Lake County has a great opportunity for families. Children between 5-18 can get free access to various Salt Lake County Rec Centers. Please explore the link

Chromebook Return and Check-in Information
Bonneville Jr High current 6th and 7th grade students will renew their Chromebooks this spring for the following year. All Chromebooks that are not renewed or returned at the end of the school year will be locked on the last day of school. Students must complete the process listed below in order to have the device unlocked and ready to use for the new school year. Failure to do so will result in the device cost being placed on your school fines and the device will remain locked. Please complete the process asap!
We are asking all current 6th and 7th grade students WHO ARE RETURNING to Bonneville Jr High next year, to keep their Chromebooks over the summer and into the next school year. In order to do this you MUST complete this 2024 Parent and Student Home Use Agreement: Bonneville Jr High School Chromebook Use Form with your student and assess the condition of the device. If there is damage that requires repairs, your student must bring the Chromebook to the library. Depending on the damage, a fine may be assessed.
If you choose not to complete this form, the Chromebook needs to be returned to the library no later than May 21, 2024 and will be checked out again next year. Failure to complete this form OR return the Chromebook will result in a charge for the device. All identifying information on the Chromebook must match what we have on file for the renewal to be successful. Please fill out the renewal form here.
Current 8th graders and students not returning to Bonneville Jr next year will need to have their devices and chargers checked in no later than May 21st. Fines will be assessed and Chromebooks will be locked after that date for any devices not checked in.
