Hello Bonneville Family,
I’m incredibly proud of our Vikings for successfully completing their first full week of school. Transitioning from the relaxed pace of summer to the daily rhythm of school is no small feat for our faculty, staff, and students. It’s reassuring to know that we have such a resilient Viking community, always ready to take on challenges together. I also want to extend my gratitude to the student body for helping me navigate the unique “junior high language.” Thanks to you, I now know what “dap me up” means, and I appreciate your patience as I master these new greetings!
This past week, we had an excellent turnout at our Back to School Night, where families had the opportunity to meet our dedicated teachers and engage in valuable workshops on Digital Safety and Building Stronger Connections with Teens, thanks to our FACE Committee and LIA students. Our school’s PTA was also actively supported by the community. A heartfelt thank you to our PTA volunteers for their unwavering dedication to our school and its success.
A big shout-out to our athletic coaches and drama department for their tremendous work with our students this past week. Our fall sports season is officially underway with Cross Country and Soccer, and preparations for our Fall Play are in full swing. We were thrilled to have over 70 students try out for the play! Even if you weren’t selected this time, our community can take pride in the incredible pool of talent we have for future productions this year.
Please keep in mind that many other wonderful things are happening in our Bonneville community that may not be mentioned in this newsletter. Our community is filled with dedicated teachers, staff, students, and parents who work tirelessly to create impactful moments that often go unnoticed. To all of you, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you!
At Bonneville Junior High, we want you to know that you are amazing just the way you are. It’s easy to look around and compare yourself to others but remember that everyone has their own unique strengths and challenges. Comparing yourself to others can make you forget how special you are. Focus on your own journey and celebrate the things that make you, you. Your value isn’t determined by what others are doing, but by being true to yourself and doing your best each day.
I love ALL our Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Other Miscellaneous Items
School Bus Pass – please select here for more information
Locker – Would your student like a locker this year? Please submit your request by selecting here. Locker number and combination will be emailed to you within 48 hours. It is not necessary for students to have a locker.
Personal Electronic Device Policy – In accordance with the Granite School District’s personal electronic device policy, all personal electronic devices are not to be seen from the 1st bell to the last bell of the day. To ensure that we can fully focus on learning, personal electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day. We believe this policy will help create a more focused and productive environment for everyone. Students are not required to bring a personal electronic device to school and Bonneville Jr High is not liable for lost or stolen items. If you choose to bring a device to school, please keep it in your backpack or locker on silent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Bonneville Jr High will allow students to use their personal electronic device during their lunch period in the cafeteria or courtyard. Once lunch has concluded, students are to place their device either in their locker or backpack on silent. Students who wear a smart watch can wear this device during the school day as long as it does not become a mode of communication.
Cell phones are not permitted in restrooms on campus. If policy is not followed, then students may have their phone turned into the main office and a parent may be required to pick up the phone.
