Hello Bonneville Family,
This week has been a great one at Bonneville Junior High! I am so proud of our Vikings for demonstrating what it means to be responsible, respectful, and ready to learn. From classrooms to the hallways, I’ve seen students making positive choices, supporting one another, and staying engaged in their learning. Keep up the great work, Vikings!
I am excited to invite you and your family to Oakwood Elementary’s Mid-Autumn Festival on Thursday, September 12th, from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Oakwood Gym. Join the Cottonwood Network for an evening of games, prizes, mooncakes, food trucks, and live performances. I look forward to celebrating with you!
Please mark your calendars for our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, and Wednesday, September 18th, from 4-7 pm both nights. Conferences will be held in person in the teachers’ individual classrooms. If you prefer a virtual meeting with your student’s teachers, please reach out via email to request this option, and our teachers will send you a virtual meeting link. All parents and students are welcome to attend, no appointment necessary.
If you notice a friend struggling with comparing themselves to others, remind them that everyone’s journey is unique, and we all have our own strengths and challenges. Encourage them to focus on what makes them special, whether it’s their kindness, creativity, or determination. Let them know it’s okay to admire others, but it’s important not to measure their worth by someone else’s success. Being supportive, listening without judgment, and reminding them that they’re valued for who they are can make a huge difference. Help them see that true happiness comes from self-acceptance, not comparison.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. We’re excited to see what the next week holds at Bonneville, and I couldn’t be prouder of ALL our Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Personal Electronic Device Policy – In accordance with the Granite School District’s personal electronic device policy, all personal electronic devices are not to be seen from the 1st bell to the last bell of the day. To ensure that we can fully focus on learning, personal electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day. We believe this policy will help create a more focused and productive environment for everyone. Students are not required to bring a personal electronic device to school and Bonneville Jr High is not liable for lost or stolen items. If you choose to bring a device to school, please keep it in your backpack or locker on silent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Bonneville Jr High will allow students to use their personal electronic device during their lunch period in the cafeteria or courtyard. Once lunch has concluded, students are to place their device either in their locker or backpack on silent. Students who wear a smart watch can wear this device during the school day as long as it does not become a mode of communication.
Cell phones are not permitted in restrooms on campus. If policy is not followed, then students may have their phone turned into the main office and a parent may be required to pick up the phone.
