Hello Bonneville Family,
This past week our Vikings had some amazing experiences. From helicopter visits to a fiesta.
Thank you SO MUCH to SUU Aviation for bringing a helicopter to Bonneville Junior High School! Bonneville JHS 8th graders learned about SUU’s incredible aviation program and careers related to flying. We even learned a little bit about the physics of how helicopters stay in the sky! Thank you to Mrs. Wood and the BJHS Counseling Center team for arranging this college and career readiness event. It was SO COOL!
Our students have been earning points all month long by showing respect, responsibility, and being ready to learn. Thursday, they got to cash in those points for a fantastic celebration with tacos, pastries, horchata, and more! A huge THANK YOU to Mrs. Anna Kendall and Mrs. Amanda Johnson for working closely with our teachers and student leaders to create an unforgettable experience for our Vikings.
And to end our week our teachers celebrated Friday the 13th with Freaky Friday. Our teachers stepped up their game, swapping roles with students and rocking some serious “fit” and “riz” along the way! From trendy hoodies to cool kicks, they embodied student style like pros, showing off their incredible sense of humor and connection with our amazing kids. We love how our staff keeps the fun alive and makes learning unforgettable!
This week we are holding our Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences, which will be held on Tuesday, September 17th, and Wednesday, September 18th, from 4-7 pm both nights. Conferences will be held in person in the teachers’ individual classrooms. If you prefer a virtual meeting with your student’s teachers, please reach out via email to request this option, and our teachers will send you a virtual meeting link. All parents and students are welcome to attend, no appointment necessary.
On Friday, September 20th there is no school. I hope all Vikings and their loved ones enjoy a long weekend.
Have you ever tried putting yourself in someone else’s shoes? This is what perspective-taking is all about—understanding and considering another person’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences. By stepping outside of our own viewpoint, we can better understand others, which helps to reduce misunderstandings and improve communication. Practicing perspective-taking allows us to respond more thoughtfully to others’ emotions and needs, ultimately strengthening and enriching our relationships.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. We’re excited to see what the next week holds at Bonneville, and I couldn’t be prouder of ALL our Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Personal Electronic Device Policy – In accordance with the Granite School District’s personal electronic device policy, all personal electronic devices are not to be seen from the 1st bell to the last bell of the day. To ensure that we can fully focus on learning, personal electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day. We believe this policy will help create a more focused and productive environment for everyone. Students are not required to bring a personal electronic device to school and Bonneville Jr High is not liable for lost or stolen items. If you choose to bring a device to school, please keep it in your backpack or locker on silent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Bonneville Jr High will allow students to use their personal electronic device during their lunch period in the cafeteria or courtyard. Once lunch has concluded, students are to place their device either in their locker or backpack on silent. Students who wear a smart watch can wear this device during the school day as long as it does not become a mode of communication.
Cell phones are not permitted in restrooms on campus. If policy is not followed, then students may have their phone turned into the main office and a parent may be required to pick up the phone.
