Hello Bonneville Family,
Thank you to everyone who was able to join us for Parent-Teacher Conferences last week! I hope parents, students, and teachers found the one-on-one conversations about student progress meaningful and beneficial.
I’d also like to share an exciting opportunity happening today in our Chinese DLI (Dual Language Immersion) classroom. Members of the Chinese Embassy will be visiting to learn more about our dual language program and the benefits it provides to students. We’re honored to host these officials, and I’m especially grateful to Mrs. Yang, our Chinese teacher, for coordinating this special visit.
Looking ahead, we have our Latinos In Action (LIA) Parent Night this Wednesday, September 25th, from 5:00–6:00 p.m. Our LIA students recently put on an amazing Hispanic Heritage celebration for the entire school, and we look forward to welcoming their families to our school this week.
Students, did you know it’s recommended to get 8–9 hours of sleep each night? Getting enough rest helps you feel better prepared for the school day, improves focus, boosts your mood, and leads to better decision-making. Try it this week and see how it benefits you!
Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. We’re excited to see what the next week brings, and I couldn’t be prouder of ALL our Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Locker – Would your student like a locker this year? Please submit your request by selecting here. Locker number and combination will be emailed to you within 48 hours. It is not necessary for students to have a locker.
Personal Electronic Device Policy – In accordance with the Granite School District’s personal electronic device policy, all personal electronic devices are not to be seen from the 1st bell to the last bell of the day. To ensure that we can fully focus on learning, personal electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day. We believe this policy will help create a more focused and productive environment for everyone. Students are not required to bring a personal electronic device to school and Bonneville Jr High is not liable for lost or stolen items. If you choose to bring a device to school, please keep it in your backpack or locker on silent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Bonneville Jr High will allow students to use their personal electronic device during their lunch period in the cafeteria or courtyard. Once lunch has concluded, students are to place their device either in their locker or backpack on silent. Students who wear a smart watch can wear this device during the school day as long as it does not become a mode of communication.
Cell phones are not permitted in restrooms on campus. If policy is not followed, then students may have their phone turned into the main office and a parent may be required to pick up the phone.

September is National College Savings Month. At my529, that means it’s time for Utah students to make their mark — and possibly earn a college scholarship in the process.
Students can create an original bookmark for the 2024 my529 Make Your Mark contest for a chance at a $2,000 my529 college savings scholarship account from my529 and the Utah System of Higher Education.
