Dear Bonneville Junior High School Families,
Tomorrow is Vehicle Day, our annual career event for 6th grade students!
Please note that we will be CLOSING THE SOUTH PARKING LOT AT 8 AM and REOPEN at 10:45 AM. Students arriving to school during these times will need to be dropped off on the east side of the school. Students will then proceed to enter the school on the south as usual.
Vehicle Day is a unique college and career awareness activity that teaches our 6th grade students about different careers in a fun, interactive way. Tomorrow, we line the south parking lot with vehicles that represent a variety of different fields and have students rotate in groups to each vehicle to learn about careers related to it. In the past, for example, we have had police cars, fire trucks, hearses, city vehicles, professional athletics cars, construction machines, big rigs and news vans.
Professionals showcase their vehicles and teach our students about what they do and how they got into their profession. We want this experience to help students explore a variety of careers in CTE Pathways so that students have a better understanding of the wide range of career opportunities. Take a look at this video from last year: Vehicle Day 2023.
6th graders will need to make sure they wear good shoes, bring a jacket, and be prepared with a pen or pencil. No cell phones will be allowed during this event. We will share a lot of pictures on our social media.
