Hello Bonneville Family,
What an amazing week for our Vikings! We had an incredible turnout for our LIA Parent Night! Mrs. Kendall and her wonderful students showcased beautiful cultural dances, shared their passion for the arts, and treated us to delicious food. The night was capped off with a fun piñata, creating memories that will last.
Our annual 6th Grade Vehicle Day was also a huge success! Thanks to the hard work of our counseling department, our students had a valuable learning experience. We received many compliments from our business partners and community resources that participated.
We were honored to welcome five distinguished visitors from the Embassy of China, who came to learn more about our Chinese Dual Language Immersion Program. Our students did a fantastic job presenting to our guests, leaving a lasting impression.
This upcoming week, September 30-October 4, will be Bonneville’s Connection Week! Connection week is part of our school’s suicide prevention programming and it focuses on building community between students and staff in order to make students feel safe and loved while at school. We will have daily spirit days, advisory lessons, and lunch time activities.
Additionally, as part of Connection Week, we’re excited to announce our upcoming Food Drive! This is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together and support those in need. We encourage families to donate non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, pasta, and cereals.
Please drop off your donations at the school entrance during school drop off. Let’s show our commitment to connection and kindness by helping those in our community. Thank you for your generosity!
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, Bonneville Junior High will no longer permit the use of personal electronic devices during lunch periods. This follows the Granite School Board’s decision to remove personal devices during the school day for all K-8 students. The goal is to encourage “synchronous face-to-face hangout time” for healthy social development (The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5).
Thank you for your ongoing support of our students and school community. We’re excited for the week ahead and couldn’t be prouder of ALL our Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Locker – Would your student like a locker this year? Please submit your request by selecting here. Locker number and combination will be emailed to you within 48 hours. It is not necessary for students to have a locker.
Personal Electronic Device Policy – In accordance with the Granite School District’s personal electronic device policy, all personal electronic devices are not to be seen from the 1st bell to the last bell of the day. To ensure that we can fully focus on learning, personal electronic devices will not be allowed during the school day. We believe this policy will help create a more focused and productive environment for everyone. Students are not required to bring a personal electronic device to school and Bonneville Jr High is not liable for lost or stolen items. If you choose to bring a device to school, please keep it in your backpack or locker on silent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Students who wear a smart watch can wear this device during the school day as long as it does not become a mode of communication.
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, Bonneville Junior High will not permit the use of any personal electronic device during lunch periods. This is in accordance with the Granite School Boards decision to remove all personal devices during the school day for all K-8 grade students. Students are to have “synchronous face to face hangout time for healthy social development (The Anxious Generation, By Jonathan Haidt, Ch 5).” Cell phones are not permitted in restrooms on campus. If policy is not followed, then students may have their phone turned into the main office and a parent may be required to pick up the phone.
