Hello Bonneville Family,
We’ve had an inspiring week here at Bonneville, thanks to the dedicated efforts of our amazing staff, students, and supporters. Here are some highlights from last week and some exciting events to look forward to.
College Awareness Week Success
A huge thank you to our school counseling department for an unforgettable College Awareness Week! Our students dove into learning about pathways in Career and Technical Education (CTE), explored options for both in-state and out-of-state post-secondary schools (with a special nod to Mr. Bailey’s favorite, Utah State University), and showed support for our nation’s military groups. We wrapped up the week with a Friday quiz on all the new knowledge gained, and the energy was amazing. Thank you to everyone involved for making this week so impactful for our students!
PTA Reflection Winners
A huge thank you to our PTA for putting on an incredible celebration honoring our Reflections winners! The event was a wonderful tribute to our talented Viking artists, showcasing their creativity and passion in the arts. We are so proud of each student who participated, and we’re grateful to the PTA for their dedication in making this event so special. We love our Viking artists and can’t wait to see their talents continue to shine!
Music Performances Shine Bright
A big shoutout goes to our choir, band, and orchestra for their wonderful performances and creative costumes on Wednesday night. It was such a treat to see the blend of musical talent and Halloween spirit in their performances. Our student musicians continue to make us proud!
Dance Society Recognition
Our Dance Society wowed the audience at the Cottonwood Evening of Dance on Thursday night with their performance. They were so impressive that Cottonwood High has invited them to perform during an upcoming basketball halftime this season! Congratulations to all the dancers, and thank you for representing Bonneville with such excellence.
Special Recognition for Our Amazing Vikings
This week, we were also honored to have the Granite School District and Granite Education Foundation visit our school to recognize two outstanding members of our Viking family. Mrs. Erickson, our school attendance secretary and registrar, and Kahlei, an 8th-grade student, were both celebrated for embodying the Viking Way. We are so proud of Mrs. Erickson and Kahlei and appreciate their positive influence on our school community.
Upcoming Events: Costume Celebration and No School Friday
Looking ahead, we’re excited to celebrate this Thursday with a costume day! Students, remember that costumes must follow the school’s dress code: no hoods, face paint, or weapons or look-alikes of any kind. Let’s have a fun day filled with creativity, school spirit, and respect for our guidelines.
Please note that there is no school on Friday, November 1st. We wish everyone a safe and enjoyable fall holiday season, and encourage everyone to make responsible choices if you are celebrating outside of school.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in making Bonneville Junior High an amazing place to learn and grow. Let’s have another great week, Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Personal Electronic Devices Policy
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, personal electronic devices will no longer be allowed during lunch periods. This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
