Hello Bonneville Family,
We had an incredible week at Bonneville, ending with a fun costume day on Thursday to celebrate Halloween! For the first time in at least 19 years, our Vikings were allowed to wear costumes at school, and our entire staff was proud of how well students followed the guidelines, making it a safe and enjoyable day for everyone. By respecting these guidelines, you showed true maturity and school spirit. The creativity on display was amazing, with both students and teachers putting together some truly imaginative and fun costumes. Thank you, Vikings, for making it such a memorable day!
Don’t miss Bonneville’s Fall Play, Madhouse! Join us on Thursday, November 7th, or Friday, November 8th, with performances at 6:00 PM both nights. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased at the front office, on the Focus Webstore, or with cash at the door. Come support our talented cast and enjoy an evening of entertainment!
I want to thank all the students who participated in our school’s Beginning-of-Year Panorama Survey. This survey provides us with valuable insights into how we can better support our students. One area where students felt we could improve is in helping them feel more connected to the adults at Bonneville Junior High. Feeling connected means knowing that teachers, counselors, administrators, and staff members are here to support, listen, and encourage each student’s success. When students feel this connection, they’re more comfortable seeking help, sharing ideas, and participating actively in school life. Building these connections can happen through small, intentional actions—whether it’s saying “hello” in the halls, joining clubs, or reaching out to teachers during Intervention and Extension time. Teachers and staff contribute by learning students’ names, listening to their thoughts, and showing genuine interest in what matters to them. In the spirit of this month of giving, let’s commit to creating a stronger, more supportive community by building meaningful connections with one another. By focusing on connecting, we can create a school where everyone feels valued, supported, and motivated to do their best.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in making Bonneville Junior High an amazing place to learn and grow. Let’s have another great week, Vikings!
Mr./Señor Bailey

Personal Electronic Devices Policy
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, personal electronic devices will no longer be allowed during lunch periods. This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
