Hello Bonneville Family,
We’ve had an amazing week here at Bonneville! Our LIA students led us in beautiful celebrations for Día de los Muertos, and our Fall Play, Madhouse, was a huge success, thanks to the incredible talents of our students. A special thank you to Mrs. Kendall from LIA, Ms. T, and Ms. J for guiding and supporting our students in putting on such memorable events.
We also want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone involved in bringing our Fall Festival to life—a fantastic gathering for our Vikings and future Vikings! Thank you to the PTA, SBOs, Peer Leadership, LIA, and our dedicated staff for all the hard work they’ve put into creating a fun, family-friendly event. We’re looking forward to celebrating with our Viking Family and welcoming students and families from our feeder elementary schools! The event is this Wednesday, November 13th from 5:30p – 7:30p in the auditorium, gym, and cafeteria.
As Thanksgiving approaches, we’ll be offering around 30 food bags with Thanksgiving side items like green beans, corn, and potatoes for families who may need them. If you’re interested in picking up one of these bags, please reach out to Mrs. Barr in our counseling center at 385-646-5126 or via email at kmbarr@graniteschools.org.
Finally, I had a conversation with a student this week who shared they didn’t enjoy school. It reminded me of how important it is to choose to want to learn—this choice can be the first step to discovering more enjoyment and purpose in school.
Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership in making Bonneville Junior High a wonderful place to learn and grow. Let’s have another great week, Vikings!

Personal Electronic Devices Policy
Starting Tuesday, October 15th, personal electronic devices will no longer be allowed during lunch periods. This aligns with the Granite School Board’s decision for all K-8 students, encouraging face-to-face social interaction (as referenced in The Anxious Generation by Jonathan Haidt, Ch. 5). Devices should be out of sight either in backpacks, lockers or left at home. If a device is seen or heard, it will be taken and held in the main office until the end of the day. Multiple violations will require a parent/guardian to pick up the device. Bonneville Junior High is not liable for lost or stolen personal devices.
