Hello Crestview Parents,
We’ve had a lot of emails from me this week! You get one more from me today. 🙂
SEP Conferences are next week on Wednesday and Thursday. Please don’t forget to sign up for a time! We are having in person conferences on Wednesday and virtual conferences on Thursday. If you have questions about scheduling please reach out to your child’s teacher.Â
You may have already read the email sent out today by our Superintendent, Dr. Nye. Granite School District is highly encouraging virtual SEP Conferences. Even though Wednesday is dedicated to in person conferences we will happily do virtual appointments on that day as well as Thursday. All of our teachers have a personal Zoom account that will be shared for you when you select virtual conferences on your sign up. If you are unable to participate remotely the district is asking that you limit in-person attendance to one parent and the student involved for that specific conference. Lastly, masks and social distancing are strongly recommended for any in-person conferences.
The next important item is that the testing window for placement in Granite School District’s Advanced Learner Programs for the 2022-2023 school year will be October 4th – December 10th for grades 3-6, and January 3rd – March 10th for grades K-2. Testing at Crestview will occur on Tuesday, November 2 and Thursday, November 4 for grades 3-5. It is not necessary to have your child tested each year. However, children who want to be considered for placement in the Advanced Learning Center Program at Morningside must participate this year in the assessments. In addition, students entering junior high who are interested in taking Gifted and Talented classes in junior high must be tested this year. It is not necessary for students planning to register for honors classes in junior high to be tested. If you would like your child to participate in the Advanced Learner testing, please notify Miss Emily Saltas (edsaltas@graniteschools.org) by Friday, October 15.
We look forward to seeing you all next week for SEP Conferences!
