YouScience (Career Aptitudes)
YouScience is a website that helps students discover their natural aptitudes to help direct them
to relevant career and/or educational pathways! YouScience has students play “brain games” to
evaluate their preferences between classroom learning, future careers, and certifications.
Apprenticeships
An apprenticeship is an arrangement where a student learns an art, trade, or job while under the
supervision of a professional. Apprenticeships help students gain real-world experience in a
field they are interested in! Students in Granite School District also have the opportunity to take
classes and get involved with apprenticeships through Granite Technical Institute. See the
following links for leads or talk with your school’s Work Based Learning Coordinator to get
involved.

Workforce
The workforce is a general term used to describe people who work for a specific employer or
company. This just typically means that you choose to work right out of high school as opposed
to going into the military or continuing education. A way to get involved in the workforce is
finding an area you’re interested in and getting an entry-level position and working their way up.
You could incorporate your apprenticeship or internship experiences to help you get a job as
well. You can use the following websites to help look for jobs:
