Population Study — Process Overview
The following summarizes the steps shown in the infographic to ensure full accessibility:
- December–February: Analysis begins; the Population Analysis Committee (PAC) reviews enrollment trends and space needs.
- February: PAC creates a list of possible options and criteria for evaluation.
- February–June: PAC investigates options; collects community input as needed; multiple solutions are reviewed.
- June–July: PAC prepares a written report for the Board of Education that may include boundary changes, school consolidations/closures, or no action.
- July–August: Board studies the report and gathers additional input; staff completes impact reviews (transportation, programs, communities).
- September: Board holds public meetings and receives formal recommendations.
- October–December: Board decides; if approved, changes are announced and implemented with support for affected students and communities.
