Dear Evergreen Parents and Students,
We deeply appreciate all you are doing to help our students stay in school. We are all doing our best to flourish this year in and outside of the classroom! We are so appreciative of our teachers who are working overtime to give their best teaching both online and in school. Please be patient with them as they navigate these new educational waters.
With that being said, the Olympus network has seen an exponential increase in COVID-19 cases. We express concern that our Evergreen students are not being safe outside of school. We ask, as educators, that you and your family take precautions to keep your family safe. The only way we can stay in school is if we are being diligent outside of school. Please make sure you are emphasizing the importance of physical distance and wearing a mask both in and outside of school.
Many of our students do an amazing job at both. A few of our students, however, fail to understand the importance of staying distance with masks on, particularly at lunch. Please remind your student the importance of staying apart and being safe. We WANT to stay in school. We WANT to stay open. Please help us in our objective by reminding your students.
We have postponed intramural basketball at this point. We will wait until the spike reduces and will resume intramural activities later.
We have been implementing Eagle Time the last few weeks. This is during Advisory and allows students to remediate in their core and elective classes. On Monday’s students review their grades and create a plan to visit a class and receive help. Please encourage your student to take advantage of this time. As parents, you can assist by looking over your child’s grades and help them determine where they can go. On a weekly basis help them to check grades and complete missing assignments and retake assessments.
Thank you for your cooperation! We love our Evergreen community! We hope you are safe and healthy!
