Open Enrollment
The months of December, January and February have been legislated for parents to exercise their school-choice option. If you want your student(s) to attend a school other than the school in your home boundary, you are required to complete a Granite School District “Application for Student to Attend School Out-of -School or District Boundaries” Form (Early Application) and submit it to the school of your choice between the time period beginning December 2, 2013 and ending Friday, February 21, 2014. Forms are available in our office, or in the requested school’s office, from December 2nd through the 21st of February. These forms will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis with a five dollar per student application fee (non-refundable), and will be stamped with the date and time received. The requested school has until April 7th, 2014 to notify the parent/family of acceptance. Each application is individually screened and considered based on available space by building, grade, class, or program.
Student Safety
The Student Drop-off Area is here to improve the safety of our students, and make it convenient for parents to bring their children to school. We have had a little problem in the morning when parents drop off their students. Some parents are parking in the drop-off zone, which causes cars to back-up into the street. This, in turn, causes a traffic problem. We are asking drivers to drop off their students, and then continue out of the drop-off zone. If you need to come into the school, please use the parking stalls across the street. Thank you for your help in this very important matter.
YMCA After School Program
Fox Hills has teamed up with the YMCA to provide a wonderful after school program that provides youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Their activities include homework time, club activities, values, healthy snacks, and outside activities. Their hours are from 3:20 PM until 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday and from 1:05 until 5:30 on Friday. There is a variable rate fee associated with this program. For more information please stop by the office.
Tardies & Attendance
We are concerned about our students and want them to learn and be successful. A big part of learning and being successful is coming to school every day and being on time. Students are expected to be in the classroom and in their seats when it is time for school to begin. When students are late or not here, they lose valuable learning time, interrupt the learning of others and miss important instructions. Please help us by ensuring your student(s) arrive on time everyday. Our first bell rings at 8:35AM, school and instruction begins at 8:40 AM.
Annual Food Drive
Our Fox Hills Student Council is once again heading up our annual food drive. We will be having a contest to see which class collects the most food items Please help by donating non-perishable items (no glass) and food that has NOT expired. Have your student bring food items to his/her class starting November 7th – 13rd. The winning class will win a prize!
