Dear Parents and Students,
I am honored and thrilled to be appointed as the new principal. I look forward to many new and exciting experiences at Fox Hills Elementary. I loved being the assistant principal last year and learned what a wonderful school and community you have.
I have a long history in education which started when I graduated from the University of Utah in 1987. My first teaching assignment was in Little Rock, Arkansas teaching second grade for three years. My family then moved to Colorado where I taught science in third through fifth grade. Our family moved “back home” to Utah were I taught in Granite School District for the next 20 years. Wow! What a journey.
My administration experience started as an intern at Eisenhower Junior High School three years ago. I was then appointed as an assistant principal for the past two years. I have a total of 27 years of experience in education and am very excited for the next phase of my career.
Along with my education experience, I have raised my family along the way. I have five children, three daughters and two sons. Their ages range from 16 to 30 years in age. I also have the privilege of being a grandparent of four beautiful grandchildren. What a joy it is to watch the next generation grow.
I am confident we will have a fabulous school year together. I look forward to getting to know you and your children on a personal level. Please feel free to contact me or just stop by my office to say hello.
I look forward to meeting you at Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 16, from 5:00-6:00pm.
Warm Regards,
Teri Daynes
Fox Hills Principal
