Steffany Austin
Special Education
I have been working for Granite School District for the last 26 years as a sweeper, paraprofessional, and teacher. I love my students and feel privileged to be their teacher. I love children with disabilities because they are so much fun.
When I’m not at Truman, I love reading, family, hanging out with friends, going to movies, and my dog Star. I love the African culture and events from my days as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Côte d’Ivoire.

I have three great loves in my life. My family, my job, and Utah football! I have worked in Special Education since 1991. After 17 years the fabulous Ana Hafford talked me into getting my college degree. I graduated from Utah State in 2013, it was one of the best things I have ever done. I love my job; my students make me smile every day. My family is an amazing support for me and they are the coolest people to hang out with. Most of all I love working at Truman; we have an amazing team here!

I have been teaching in special education since 1988. I have two boys, and I am married. I enjoy swimming, being with friends, and watching movies. I love animals of all kinds and will always have at least one dog and one cat at my house. My teaching career has been a wonderful experience, and I just think the best part is the kids. They are so fun, and they make me laugh every day.
I love working here at Truman!
