We want to thank families for adjusting schedules to accommodate the late start day we had last Friday due to the snowy weather. The late start allowed for a safe start for our staff and students. Mr. Ben and our district Grounds Department were able to clear and salt the parking lot, sidewalks, and black top with the extra time. Teachers and staff had time to dig themselves out of their own driveways and plan a safe route to school. Thank you for being flexible – we appreciate it!
Here is the latest news and information from Upland Terrace.
Congratulations to our AWESOME Upland Students!
All our students are doing great things here at Upland, but we love to recognize those who work hard to go above and beyond expectations!
Each month, we recognize students for demonstrating Graduate of Granite characteristics. Our characteristic for the month of October was Respect. Please see our attached list of award winners. Congratulations to all our super respectful students!
Attached, you will also find our winners of the PTA Reflections contest. Congratulations to all students who participated, and to our winners. Thanks to our PTA for organizing this fun contest.
Battle of the Books
For all K-3 students, It’s time to send in your Battle of the Books Jr. reading log! Reward and Record week starts Monday Dec. 12 during students’ regular library time. The categories being rewarded this month are Fairy Tale/Fable and Animals/Nature. If you want more information about this reading program or need to print a reading log, please click the link below.
Student Drop Off and Pick Up Safety
Winter weather is here! Please follow our student drop off and pick up procedures – especially in winter driving conditions. Remember that the student drop off and pick up area is the WEST parking lot. Be sure to slow your speed. The procedures are attached for your review.
Thanks to all who always follow the procedures! We appreciate your help in keeping our students safe.
Open Enrollment
It’s Open Enrollment time! If you know of families who live outside of our school boundaries and are interested in attending Upland Terrace, now is the time to apply. The Open Enrollment – Early Application Period for the 2023-2024 school year is now open and ends on Friday, February 3, 2023. This is the recommended time to apply for enrollment for the coming school year.
New this year – applications can be filled out electronically. You can find the link to the application here: https://www.graniteschools.org/bulletin/school-open-enrollment-information-2023-2024/
Once the application is submitted online, a timestamped copy of the application will be emailed to the parent/guardian and to the requested school. Notification of the application’s acceptance/denial will be given by email or phone by Friday, March 31, 2023.
If you currently have students at Upland and live outside our school boundaries and have already completed an Open Enrollment application in previous years, there is no need to re-apply.
