Hello everyone!
Happy Monday! With only three weeks left of school, we are very busy here at Upland Terrace. Students are working hard to review all of their learning and finish up assessments. We know it is a tricky time of year – so a big shout out to all of you parents who continue to get your student to school on time every day. Thank you for continuing with school routines of homework time and reading every night. We appreciate the support!
Kindergarten 2023-2024 Information
We have finalized for kindergarten sessions for next year. Our Legislature has directed schools to have full day and half day class options available so parents can choose the best option for their child.
Given the current parent request numbers we have, Upland Terrace will have three full day kindergarten sessions next year. Please know that we have heard the feedback from parents wanting a traditional half day kindergarten classroom for their child. We will take that into account as we plan how we schedule for the students during the day. Our goal is to give every child an optimal kindergarten experience where they can benefit from all the opportunities to learn that kindergarten has to offer.
If your choice was to have a half day kindergarten experience, our half day session will be the morning half of one of our full day sessions.
If you will have a kindergartener next year, please be on the look out for more information about our classes!
Kindergarten Schedule for KEEP
Current kindergarten students will be taking their KEEP end-of-year assessment this week. This means that students will meet with their teachers by appointment.
- There will be NO SCHOOL for students in Mrs. Klenk, Ms. Wiley, and Mr. Williams’ classes.
- There WILL be school for Mrs. Larson’s class on Monday and Tuesday. There will be NO SCHOOL for Mrs. Larson’s students on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
Class Placement Information Forms
The yellow Class Placement Information Forms are now available in the front office.
Parents are encouraged to trust the school staff to make an appropriate educational placement in a class for the coming school year. Our teacher teams spend a considerable amount of time and energy determining class assignments. We strive to ensure that each student is placed in a balanced classroom where educational and emotional needs can be met. If you would like teacher teams to consider additional information about your child’s learning style or individual needs, please take the time to fill out one of these forms.
The form must be completed on paper and turned in at the office by Wednesday, May 18, for consideration.
