Emergency Drills
Did you know? Elementary schools are required to do at lease nine emergency drills each school year. This week and next, we will be practicing a Lockout drill and an Evacuation.
During the Lockout drill: Students are brought inside the building and the exterior doors are locked. Classes carry on activities inside the building. Staff members rehearse specific responsibilities to keep students inside and prevent outside entry.
During the Evacuation drill: Students/staff will evacuate the building at the sound of the alarm and gather outside in designated areas. If you see students lined up outside during this day, please know it is likely part of our drill.
If you have any questions please feel free to call the school office, or contact your child’s teacher.
