The students at Decker Lake Youth Center attended a virtual assembly developed by the STEMCAP group from the University of Utah. They attended in 3 separate classrooms over Zoom. The students spent the day before the assembly learning some background information about glass, how it’s made and its many uses.
The presentation was live from a laboratory at the University where they study glass and what can be done with it. The students were interested and asked a lot of questions about the processes involved in making certain types of glass and discussed other ways that they might be interested in working in a lab.
