YESS recognizes the importance of mentors in the life of YIC (Youth in Care) students. We utilize Check & Connect, a nationally renowned mentoring program, to meet our YESS students’ needs. Within this capacity, our advocates act as a liaison between caseworkers, group home leaders, trackers, foster parents, and schools. They teach social skills, help with credit recovery and connect students to resources in their schools and communities.
