
DSI/Gemstone Takes Flight!
Brian and his class did test flights of their planes they made in class. Through trial and error they fixed problems and were able to fly their planes.
DSI/Gemstone busy this term
First off building volcanoes and watching the chemicals react. Then a field trip to see Master of the Currents at Kingsbury Hall. Then learning about the guitar with Thomas. Pamela and her students perform a drum circle.

Persuasive Essays
Students in Dieter’s English classes at the Detention Center have been learning to write 3-pronged thesis, 5-paragraph persuasive essays. The following essay is about changes that the student author would like to see at DT.

A little paper, a piece of fabric, add some light mixed with the tools and support of SpyHop and you have a shadow puppet film teaching us tolerance and acceptance and to not judge others in too hasty of a fashion. Bravo, Jodie Horgan and students!
