Hello Bonneville Families!
It is so great to see all the wonderful things happening at school. We truly enjoy having your students here each day. Both Cross County and Soccer are in full swing and our student athletes are outstanding. Our girls soccer team is currently undefeated! Let’s go Vikings. We will host this week’s Cross Country meet at Bonneville on Tuesday beginning about 3:00. Boys will have their first home game on Monday and girls will be at Wasatch, both games beginning about 3:00. We have many great opportunities for students with our STEM clubs, Dance Society, and Chess Club to get involved after school. See below for more information and to find something that is fun for you. Bonneville Junior High was highlighted in the Holladay Journal at the start of the school year. Here is the link to the article https://www.holladayjournal.com/2023/09/08/464935/bonneville-jr-high-welcomes-new-students-on We are beyond proud of all our Vikings and truly do our very best every day to help your students feel connected here at school.

PickaTime Instructions – Spanish
*Please remember that you do not have to wait for a parent teacher conference to communicate with teachers. You can reach out to your student’s teachers any time and have a great discussion about your student’s strengths and areas for growth. Open dialogue between teachers, parents, and students is greatly appreciated.
We will also have Boo to the Flu on Thursday evening from 4-7 PM. Please feel free to bring the whole family if you are planning on a flu shot this year.
Please continue to work with and discuss openly with your students appropriate and expected behaviors. We are seeing an increase in vandalism in the bathrooms and extreme problems on some of our busses. The damage to the bathrooms and the amount of time it takes to clean up these messes forces us to close bathrooms during the week. These costs could be used in such better ways. As for behavior on the busses…this is a huge safety concern. If our bus drivers cannot operate safely, it puts others at risk. If your student violates bus expectations they will lose the privilege to ride the bus and parents/guardians will be responsible for transportation. Please be mindful that many can be impacted by the actions of one…so choose good behaviors!
I truly hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Counseling Comments
6th Grade CCRPs
School counselors are currently meeting with all 6th grade students for their annual College and Career Readiness Plan (CCRP) meetings. School counselors are checking in with students to make sure they are adjusting well to junior high school. Please review this document to see what we’re talking about with your student: 6th Grade CCRP Document.
Vehicle Day
We are so excited for our annual 6th grade career event, Vehicle Day. This year Bonneville Junior High School is holding Vehicle Day on Thursday, October 5th from approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Vehicle Day is a unique college and career awareness activity that teaches our students about different careers in a fun, interactive way. During this day we line the south parking lot with vehicles that represent a variety of different fields and have students rotate in groups to each vehicle to learn about careers related to it. In the past, for example, we have had police cars, fire trucks, hearses, city vehicles, professional athlete’s cars, construction machines, big rigs, and news vans.
We are still looking for more vehicles to join our event. If you are interested in displaying your career’s car and sharing with our students about your industry, please email Mrs. Stacy Wood at srwood@graniteschools.org.
We also need 8 parent volunteers to help chaperone groups of students around the parking lot. Please sign up at this link HERE.
