My name is Mrs. Bennion and this is my 6th year teaching! I'm a Utes fan and graduated from the University of Utah! I grew up playing competitive soccer, and even though math is my favorite subject to teach, playing soccer at recess with my students is my favorite part of the day! When I'm not in my classroom, I'm out surfing on my dad's boat or finding a way to run off to Disneyland!

Mrs. Taryn was born in Denver, Colorado but she has lived most of her life in Southern Utah. Her favorite sport in school was marching band, in which she played the tenor saxophone. She received her associates degree in General Studies at SUU just in time to get married, move to Northern Utah, and have her first child. Later on, after she had 2 kids, she returned to school online and earned her bachelor's degree in Marriage and Family Studies at BYU-Idaho. She now has three children, one of whom has mental health challenges. She is an avid supporter of those with mental disabilities and encourages her students to be their unique selves. Taryn loves that she doesn't fit into a mold. She is allergic to anything that has fur, so she has a Quaker parrot and two parakeets instead. She has sported all ranges of hairstyles, rides a 3-wheel Spyder motorcycle, plays a purple baritone saxophone in the Murray Concert Band, and dissects her ice cream sandwiches and chocolate bars. The library is where Taryn feels most at home. This is her dream job; she loves collecting books and sharing their knowledge and use with others.

Background: Mr. Moore grew up in Utah and attended Hunter High School. He is married with two boys and two girls, Athen, Cohen, Camilla, and Isla. He played basketball in college first at Snow College for two years and then transferred to a University in Georgia called Kennesaw State University. Mr. Moore loves anything outdoors; hiking, running, swimming, and biking.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication, Kennesaw State University. Teaching license Special Education, Utah State University, Master of Education, Southern Utah University.

Experience:  Before moving into administration, Mr. Moore was a special education teacher at Granger High School and loved every minute. He also spent a year and a half as an administrative intern at Granger. He spent five years as an assistant principal at Eastmont Middle School in Canyons School District and one year at Kennedy Jr High.

Hobbies: Mr. Moore loves spending time at the beach. He tries to visit San Diego or Hawaii at least once every few years. That’s if they can find a reasonable plane ticket! His oldest son Athen was adopted and born in Hawaii, so it has a special place in his heart! A fun fact about Mr. Moore is his grandfather played for the Harlem Globetrotters!

Fun/Embarrassing Facts: Living in a dry climate like Utah, Mr. Moore loves a good moisturizer! The attendance secretary at a previous school would order him hand lotion from Avon! It was a school-wide joke that all the teachers gave him a hard time. Oh, one more thing, he has a deathly fear of snakes!
