For the past 30 years, I have had the joy of teaching at William Penn. I earned my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Westminster College and my master's degree with an emphasis in reading from the University of Utah. Literacy is truly my passion, and I love helping children become excited about reading and writing. In our classroom, we focus on problem solving, critical thinking and showing knowledge in a variety of meaningful ways.
My two daughters are proud William Penn Dual Immersion alumna, and both are graduates from the University of Utah School of Nursing. Outside the classroom, I enjoy traveling, reading, golfing, gardening, attending musicals, and visiting art galleries. I love being a part of the William Penn family! Go Penguins!

I have a degree from the U of U in Family Studies and Human Development, with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I obtained an MA in Elementary Education from Westminster College, and I completed my World Language Endorsement at Utah State University.
I was born in Mexico. I have lived in the United States for three quarters of my life.
I taught English Immersion for 7 years in private English Immersion schools in Mexico, then lived in Canada for 6 years where I taught Spanish to High School students, and in after school programs.
I live in Salt Lake City with my husband Jim, and our 5-year-old Goldendoodle, Dante.
I have two wonderful young adult children. My son Alexander is 25 and my daughter Miranda is 27. They are each beautiful, caring, and goal-oriented young people, whom I respect and look up to.
I currently teach second grade Spanish Dual Immersion here in William Penn and have loved working here for the last 12 years.
