It’s Fall Fundraiser Time!

Rolling Meadows is excited to host their 4th Annual Walk-A-Thon Fundraiser for the students of our school!

Rolling Meadows has been striving to promote being health. Our students are encouraged to choose healthy foods from the nutrition station for lunch. They are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school. The benefits to doing a Walk-A-Thon is that our school will keep ALL of the profit! Instead of giving 53% of the money raised to a company providing products, we will get to keep 100% of the pledges received! Our students will also be doing something healthy. There is no door-to-door selling of magazines, gadgets, or food products that no one really needs.

Why Should I Participate?

The school provides many programs and meets the needs at Rolling Meadows like new computers in K — 3rd grade, Apple iPads and iPods used for fun and challenging learning activities. Other programs sponsered are Art, Music, Field Trips, Assemblies, Student Appreciation, STAR Reading, Student Incentives, Field Day, Safari Lunch, Teacher Appreciation, and more! These items cost money. In order to continue providing these items the school must raise money. We want this to be successful so we can keep these great programs for our students. This is also a great way to encourage your students to be healthy.

How Will it Work?

Fundraiser packets have been sent home with all students that includes a pledge tracking sheet and money envelope. Students will contact people they know asking for pledges for the Walk-A-Thon. Students will write down the name, phone number, and pledge amount from each supporter. We will only be doing flat pledges, NO “per-lab” pledges. Money needs to be collected at the time the pledge is made. All students will walk for a full hour to earn their pledges. We will have music, fun activities, and a healthy snack during the walk. Students may turn in their pledge sheet and donations to their teacher at any time during the fundraiser. By turning them in everyday, it will keep our thermometer growing! Additional pledge sheets are available at the office if your student is extra ambitious and fills up their first one! We will be having daily contests for money received each day.

Any Other Incentives?

Of course! We are offering great incentives to the students for raising money for our school. All of our prizes are cumulative. We are encouraging every student to set a goal of collecting a minimum of $25.00 in pledges. We will have a pledge thermometer to keep students aware of how much money they have raised.

• For $5,000 raised, we will have a fun day for the students.
• For $7,500 raised, we will have a faculty follies assembly.
• For $10,000 raised, we will h ave a school-wide celebration.
• The class with the highest percentage of $25.00 total pledges will win an extra recess all week.
• The class raising the most money will earn a class party and their teacher will earn a special treat.
• The top student in each class will earn a Wii party at school during lunch. They will get to have lunch and play Wii for their lunch break!
• All students collecting at least $25.00 in pledges will be entered in a drawing for fun prizes.
• All students collecting at least $50.00 in pledges will be entered in a drawing for an Apple iPod Shuffle.
• All students collecting at least $100.00 in pledges will be entered in a drawing for a rip stick, scooter, or bike.
• All students collecting at least $350.00 in pledges will be entered in a drawing for a Kindle Fire HD 7-inch.
• We also will have different prize levels based on pledges collected.

We are excited for the possibilities this Walk-A-Thon has. We only need you and your students to help us make it a success. If every student does a little, together we can do a lot!
