Diploma of Merit & Department Awards

Cottonwood High School has developed recognition programs for students who achieve academic excellence. Students with GPA’S and CPA’S 3.0 and above and at least two areas within the curriculum where they meet the qualifications for areas of distinction are eligible for the Diploma of Merit. Each department within the curriculum also offers an Award of Excellence for students who have a high level of success in the respective department.

The requirements for Diploma of Merit and Award of Excellence for each department are in the links below.  It is recommended that students study the requirements for the areas of study for which they are most interested. Students should meet with their counselor to develop an educational plan in their CCRP which includes courses the student must take to qualify for these recognitions. If you have any concerns regarding information found in these pages, please see your counselor and/or teachers.

The application for Diploma of Merit is available at the beginning of 4th quarter for Seniors.  Counselors will provide more details on the process at that time.
