My name is Mrs. Harris and I was born and raised in West Valley, Utah. I received my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Family and Human Studies from the University of Utah and I have been here at Elk Run Elementary ever since! This is my 8th year teaching, and I have taught 4th, 5th, and 2nd grade. One my favorite things about teaching is watching the excitement in the student’s eyes when something “clicks” for them. My aim is to help all students realize that learning can be fun and to help them find at least one thing that they are great in. When I’m not teaching I love to spend time with my husband and son, read books, craft, and just be outside. I am so excited for another amazing year here at Elk Run!

I have been at Elk Run for four years. I have been teaching almost 40 years! Outside of Utah, I have taught in New York City and at the Pentagon in Virginia. I have also taught school in Egypt, Turkey and Japan. My favorite subject is math.
