The following resources have been made available for everyone.
Granite Technical Institute (GTI)
- The GTI is Granite School District technical high school. High school students are bussed from their home high school to the GTI school so students can take classes they are interested in that are offered at the GTI. Every January the GTI has an open house. This is amazing hands-on opportunity allows students to see what classes they can take through GTI or classes that are in a pathway they are interested in. Check the GTI site for open house dates. 8th grade students should take advantage of visiting the GTI open house.
- Kennedy Jr. High School is part of Granite School District. This link has great information about Granite School District.
Granite School District Career and Technical Education
- Lots of more information about career pathways for all students. Pathways include engineering, arts and entertainment, digital technology, agriculture, construction, business management, education, energy and natural resources, financial services, health sciences and human services, hospitality and tourism, marketing, public safety and service, supply chain and transportation, and aviation.
- 8th graders interested in getting ahead with high school credits may enroll for classes through Granite Online. This self-paced school does have specific start dates, due dates, and end dates.
- Kennedy Jr. High students are in the boundary to attend Hunter High School. Hunter High is a 9th through 12th school. They have a lot of great things happening at Hunter! Find out more about what sports, clubs, and classes they have to offer.
- If you are on a permit at Kennedy Jr., then please check your home high school’s boundary according to your residence through the Granite School District boundary page. If you would like to attend Hunter High in 9th through 12th, but you are out of the boundary, you will need to complete a School Choice Open Enrollment Form.
- Course selection for classes for the next school year in high school usually start in January. Please check with the high school for course selection information.
Utah High School Activities Association
- This link will take you to UHSAA for high school athletics and fine arts activities in Utah. This will help you see what courses you may need to be taking for eligibility to play sports or to participate in other events. Great resource for those wanting to play sports in high school.
- You should also check the NCAA Eligibility Center (Clearinghouse) if you are interested in playing collegiate sports.
