Parent Resources

Granite Education Foundation

  • The Granite Education Foundation supports students in the Granite School District by helping meet basic needs like food, clothing, school supplies, and even transportation. They work to remove barriers that make it harder for kids to learn and succeed in school. Whether it’s a warm coat in winter, a backpack filled with supplies, or a meal to get through the weekend, the Foundation makes sure students have the essentials they need to thrive — both in and out of the classroom.

Mental health services through Huntsman Mental Health (HMHI)

  • The Huntsman Mental Health Institute (HMHI) at University of Utah Health offers mental health support, treatment, and crisis care for people of all ages. If a child or teen (ages 5–17) is in crisis, HMHI has a 24/7 walk‑in clinic where staff evaluate the situation and connect you with care. They also provide regular therapy, outpatient programs, hospital services, and specialized care for issues like anxiety, depression, substance use, and more. There is also a 24/7 walk-in facility in South Salt Lake for adults, no appointment is necessary.

Parents Empowered

  • Parents Empowered is a resource for families to help prevent underage drinking by giving parents tools, tips, and information to guide conversations with kids. The site offers things like conversation starters, activities to do together, research on how alcohol affects young brains, and strategies for setting clear expectations. It’s free, evidence-based, and designed to support parents in protecting their children’s health and well‑being.

Program Development

  • The PROG Foundation, launched in 2021, builds on decades of compassion and service by PROG Holdings to expand charitable giving, volunteerism, and community impact. Through initiatives like the PROG Development Center, the Foundation partners with community stakeholders to support youth with education, workforce readiness, mentorship, and pathways to meaningful employment. Centered on collaboration, innovation, and technology, the Foundation works alongside community partners to create lasting socio-economic opportunities for Greater West Valley City’s youth.
