Career & Technical Education (CTE)
Career and Technical Education (CTE) connects classroom learning to real-world careers, hands-on experiences, and opportunities beyond high school. Through CTE courses, students can discover their interests, develop valuable skills, explore career pathways, and prepare for college, technical training, and future employment.
Whether you already know what you want to do after graduation or are still figuring it out, CTE is a great place to start!
Why Take CTE Courses?
CTE is about more than learning a trade or preparing for a specific job. It gives students opportunities to explore their strengths, gain practical experience, and make connections between what they’re learning now and what they want to do in the future.

Take your learning beyond the classroom through leadership opportunities, career-related competitions, conferences, and community service.
What Are CTE Pathways?
CTE pathways are sequences of related courses that help students explore and develop skills in a particular career field. Rather than taking unrelated electives, students can build on what they’ve learned as they progress through a pathway.
Students can begin exploring pathways early in high school and continue developing their skills through advanced courses, GTI programs, and other career-focused experiences.
Completing a CTE pathway can also qualify students for special recognition at graduation.
