Dear Parents and Students,
It has been an incredible three years being the principal at Elk Run Elementary School. I have truly enjoyed every day being at this school. I am so impressed with the staff, office secretaries, community and students. I have so appreciated the support and many hours of volunteer aid you have rendered. Together, we have created a successful and thriving school. I will always have fond memories of opening a new building, forming a new staff, the Cyprus Homecoming Day parades, the Winterfest celebration, the award assemblies, tutoring students, observing excellent teachers in action, working with an excellent community council and P.T.A., just to name a few. Thank you for the opportunity and lasting friendships I will treasure forever. Working at Elk Run has definitely been the highlight of my career and I have you to thank for it.
Next year, you will notice a few changes to the staff at Elk Run Elementary School. Please embrace the new staff members as you have embraced those that are leaving for other adventures. We would like to thank the following staff members for their countless hours of service that will be leaving Elk Run Elementary: Ms. Radman, Mrs. Monson, Ms. Babbitt, Ms. Sheffield, Mr. Sappa, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Guevara and Mrs. Afalava. You will be missed and remembered for the life lessons taught.
Also new to Elk Run for the 2014-2015 school year will be the Granite School District Family and Community Outreach Center. The center will offer aid to parents in helping their children be successful in school. Please look for more information within the 2014-2015 school year.
Please have a fun and safe summer. Please take advantage of the public library and read at least 20 minutes over the summer break.
With gratitude,
Jon Adams, Principal
