Welcome to the new School Year
Our school is excited for the new school year to begin on Thursday, August 18th. Our amazing staff has worked hard this summer to prepare for the new school year. Our faculty cares about the academic and social-emotional success of our students and we are committed to providing all students with the education they deserve.
Below are some reminders and important info for you as we start the new year. Please don’t hesitate to call the school if you have any questions or need assistance with anything.
6th Grade Orientation Day
We are excited to offer an opportunity for all incoming 6th graders to have a half day orientation to meet teachers and learn how to navigate the school. Students will also learn about policies and procedures that will make their experience here easier and more enjoyable.
Our 6th Grade Day will be held on Wednesday, August 17th 7:45 -11:45 am.
Buses will be provided and will pick up/return following our normal bus schedule (a copy can be found on our website). We will also be providing students with lunch before they return home. We hope to see every 6th grader at orientation and don’t forget, the first day of school for all students will be August 18th.
Lockers, Backpacks and Lunches
All students at Granite Park will be provided with a binder and a planner. Starting the 1st week of September, full size backpacks will no longer be allowed. Students can bring small personal bags such as a purse or string backpack.
If your student needs a locker due to special circumstances, please contact the school so we can make arrangements for students to get al locker and discuss locker responsibilities.
All students at Granite Park will receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Since we do not allow backpacks or lockers, we have a system in place where we collect home lunches for students and put them in a secure fridge until it is time for lunch. Students who bring home lunches to school will need to drop off their lunches before school in the main office.
